Do what you Love! For Nelly Perez that motto has become a way of life. Working as a realtor in San Antonio for the past 11 years, Nelly has found her passion and her mission in life is simple: To help find families the home of their dreams by being transparent and authentic. “There is no bigger reward than to see a family move into their new home and to know that I was a part of it,” says Perez. “Those memories last forever. The relationships and trust you build during the buying or selling process makes it all worth it.” The love for realty started back in 1998 when at 17 Nelly, who is a first generation Mexican-American, helped her mom buy her first home. “My mom did not understand most of the contract lingo and she was very shy and overwhelmed with the whole process. She had never bought a house before and the experience was very stressful for her.” Nelly stepped in and negotiated with her mom. She naturally asked questions when she did not understand something and she researched real estate laws and practices. She comforted her mom and handled all the paperwork. “After we purchased my mom’s home I knew that one day I wanted to sell homes. I just thought about how many people were out there like my mom that did not know or understand the process of buying a home.” That is why Nelly has been very thorough for her clients during the buying and selling process. She often takes extra time with her clients to make sure they know exactly what they are signing and how it could affect them or save them money. Nelly’s previous work in the financial sector sets her apart from most realtors. Nelly was a branch manager at a local credit union and a loan processor for two major banks. Those work experiences have given her great insight to the home buying experience from the pre-approval stage to the closing written documents.
